Commentator and reporter Mark Dice continually exposes the ignorance of the American people on a weekly basis. In his latest on the street video, Dice encounters Americans who are absolutely clueless as to what was the purpose of Memorial Day.

Dice asked people in San Diego what was the purpose of Memorial Day. The responses he got are truly sad, demonstrating the ignorance of the American people.

Some claimed that it was about remembering Neil Armstrong, while others said it was about celebrating LGBT issues. Still others though it had something to do with emancipation of slaves or the first flight of the Wright brothers.

A young woman replied by asking if she had “to do this.”

A man was told by Dice that Memorial Day is actually all about celebrating Obama’s repeal of “Don’t ask, don’t tell” and the “inclusiveness of the LGBT community.” Apparently, the man was buying into it because he responded, “I love the LGBT community, I’m all about it.”

When asked the same question, another man bluntly stated, “No clue, that’s my answer.”

Another man said he would need to do some thinking about the question before he could answer, while another man said he would be “doing some drinking” to commemorate the “freeing of the slaves and the end of the Civil War.”

Probably the most sad, yet comical, response came from a young man who said that he believed Memorial Day was all about Neil Armstrong’s walk on the moon, and added that he thought it was right for the government to cancel NASA’s annual celebration of the event.

Other responses included believing that Memorial Day is all about celebrating “the first flight of the Wright brothers” and simply provides a “day off of work on Monday.”

If you think Americans’ ignorance of Memorial Day is in a steep decline, you would be correct. According to a 2000 Gallup poll, two-thirds of Americans knew what Memorial Day was about. However, in 2011, eighty percent of Americans said they had “little” or just “some” knowledge of what the holiday was about.

While rides like those of Rolling Thunder are growing and reminding people of what Memorial Day is about, only about five percent of the population actually attend a parade or visit the grave of a military veteran.

That IS clueless, illogical, unGodly, and quite frankly, it’s political. Man was made male and female for the purposes of REPRODUCTION, through the marriage arrangement God set up. Anything else is an abberation, and is, basically, behavior inspired by God’s opposer, Satan. It is NOT natural in any way, shape, or form. According to God, their actions demand a judgement of destruction.

Honestly I think God would appreciate it if we at least tried to help them understand the gift they are not taking in Jesus’ sacrifice. On another note, it is VERY VERY sad that people don’t know what Memorial Day is for. How does that happen?
