In a letter drafted by members of Montana’s 67th legislature, to be sent to Governor Greg Gianforte on Friday, legislators call for a special session regarding several matters that they have determined need to be addressed in a timely manner.
Top on the list of items to be covered in a special session is the federal power-grab currently in play, by way of Federal District Judge Donald Malloy, to have the boundary lines for the Public Service Commission map be drawn by Judge Malloy, which goes directly against the Montana Legislature and the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution.
Second, and perhaps more important, is the call for a joint special Interim Committee to verify Election Integrity in Montana.
Lastly, the legislature wants to encourage Governor Gianforte to appoint more District Judges in addition to the three that he has appointed already.
On the front lines in the charge to get a Special Session is long-time Montana legislator Derek Skees. Skees stopped by the NorthWest Liberty News studios in Kalispell early this morning to break down the letter and to explain what comes next.
